| WESTON
One of the most sought after commuter communities in the Boston area, Weston is a town where it is often said "land is king." Even with a major building boom under way, Weston has retained its semi-rural look, thanks to winding country roads bordered by fields, woodlands and venerable stone walls; and a downtown that resembles a quaint, country half-block. It has a mere 10,200 population spread over 17 square miles, and large lots maintain an open, private feeling. Its quiet and limited town center belies its prime location - at one of the most important intersections in New England. Situated where the Massachusetts Turnpike and Route 128 (the famous high-tech corridor) meet, Weston is 12 miles west of Boston, and only a 15 minute commute (outside commuter hours). This fact has propelled Weston into the highest median sale price for homes in the state:
$ 1,320,000 (with an average sale price of $ 1,559,000)*; along with the highest median household income in Massachusetts.

And Weston spends its resources wisely. It has a superb school system. According to a much-quoted Boston Magazine annual survey (September, 2004) of about 150 Massachusetts school systems, Weston ranked number one, boasting the highest verbal/math SAT scores of 609/616; making Weston High School one of the best public high schools in the United States.
The town has also amassed an impressive land bank to back up its "green" look; and maintains more than 60 miles of trails for hiking, riding and cross-country skiing in and around some of the most beautiful land in the Boston area, and is home to three luscious golf courses.
